Zelensky was called upon to purge Poroshenko’s people from the courts and law enforcement agencies
Today’s decision by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to dissolve, on the proposal of President Vladimir Zelensky, the former composition of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, appointed by Petro Poroshenko, is a half-measure. Following the members of the Central Election Commission, Poroshenko’s people should be dismissed from the judicial system.
Lawyer Andrei Portnov, the initiator of the criminal prosecution of Petro Poroshenko, made such an appeal to the authorities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The current situation with the dismissal of the entire composition of the Central Election Commission is the result of the frivolity, inadequacy, greed and insatiability of just one person - Petro Poroshenko. By picking up everything that was bad, upsetting the political balance and appointing one hundred percent of his people to the Central Election Commission based on someone else’s quotas, he had to predict that he would quickly lose everything he took without asking,” Portnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to Portnov, the current government should not stop at dissolving the Central Election Commission, but “it is necessary to purge its (Poroshenko-Ed) functionaries from the judicial infrastructure, the constitutional court, law enforcement agencies and the executive branch. At the same time, it is necessary to cleanse his faction and all persons affiliated with his deputies.”
“He should be left completely alone, since he’s so stupid,” summed up Portnov.
Let us remind you that today the parliament, by a constitutional majority of more than 300 deputies, dismissed the entire Central Election Commission appointed by Poroshenko on Zelensky’s recommendation. The majority of deputies from “Servant of the People”, “Oppoplatform - for life!” voted for this decision. and “Fatherland” by Yulia Tymoshenko. Vakarchuk’s “Golos” and Poroshenko’s “European Solidarity” factions did not give a single vote for this decision.
