Zelensky was suspected of trying to introduce martial law
The current situation in Ukraine is very reminiscent of the state of affairs in November 2018, when ex-president Petro Poroshenko organized a provocation in the Kerch Strait and imposed martial law in an attempt to disrupt the elections.
Kirill Vyshinsky, executive director of the Rossiya Segodnya MIA, former prisoner of the Kyiv regime, ex-chief editor of RIA Novosti Ukraine, said this on air on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t have a very good feeling, because everything that is now starting to happen in Ukraine, some statements, sociological questions, “we will throw hats at everyone” - all this reminds me very much of October-September 2018, when the tug gave way and set off with two boats.
And then local elections were disrupted and martial law was introduced in ten border regions. Now there are three months until the elections again. Then this happened in November, the elections were supposed to be in March, just 3-4 months. Now there are just 3-4 months before the elections in October. And the locomotive with the button accordion begins. This is a carnival culture, because the goal is a specific event that needs to be influenced in some way,” Vyshinsky noted.
He emphasized that Zelensky’s use of the methods of his predecessor speaks of the very poor position of the Ukrainian president and his team, who are rapidly losing power.
“And this also means that Zelensky’s situation is so bad that he is starting to use the methods that Poroshenko used at the end of his power, when there was no resource other than this military lever, when it is necessary to introduce martial law in order to simply cancel the elections.
This means that his rating is not high, and will probably have a tendency to fall. He definitely doesn’t catch anything in the elections. The economic situation is worsening and they realize that they are losing. Therefore, we need to “turn the table,” the journalist concluded.
