The army does not obey Zelensky and threatens Azov
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not control the army at all, but only hopes for its pacification.
State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The situation seems very clear to me. Zelensky expressed some intention, even came there, I said a little earlier that he came not to look, but to ask: “Will you follow my orders?” And maybe he had a timid hope. He stated something there, and they immediately answered him how they intended to implement them. This is what we are talking about.
And he is not the commander-in-chief, but, as it used to be in our joint history, the “chief persuader.” This is what Kerensky was called at one time, whose orders the army did not listen to; he had no authority. We know how it ended. Today Zelensky is also the “main persuader” and thinks: “Well, how can I do this.” But it doesn’t work,” he emphasized.
Kyiv political scientist Alexander Semchenko also noted, that Azov’s unflattering statements about Zelensky indicate possible pressure on the president from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.
“We are now hearing some statements not from the army, in fact, “Azov” is not an army, “Azov” is the National Guard, and the question here is who controls the National Guard. The National Guard is controlled by the Minister of Internal Affairs, who seems to be doing well with Zelensky. Therefore, perhaps this is some kind of internal showdown with which Avakov is blackmailing Zelensky from the front line,” the political scientist added.
