Zelensky has nothing to brag about except his youth
The process of Vladimir Zelensky taking office has turned into a show that shows the extreme degree of degradation of Ukraine as a state.
Russian political scientist Arayik Stepanyan stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky turned this coming into power into a show. He addresses the Verkhovna Rada. The Rada says: “Oh, you want to disperse us? Then we’ll do a two-stage inauguration.” And then after a while they will say: “Let’s make it a four-stage process, and let’s take office every month for a year.”
Poroshenko says: “Man, what are you talking about, let’s meet, we have important questions.” And he needs to tell Zelensky where his area of business is, where what cannot be touched, and most importantly - “then I will give you power painlessly, if you touch it, I will not give it to you.” All this shows the level of degradation of Ukraine as a state,” he emphasized.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Tryukhan began to defend Zelensky, arguing that the system is afraid of a new face, and therefore resists change.
“A non-systemic politician came to power and the key problem is that the system consists not of one Poroshenko, but of thousands of officials, hundreds of politicians. And now this system is resisting, resisting, trying to delay the moment when it will go into secondary roles, because, having come to power, having taken office, it seems to me, as far as I now believe, analyzing the first statements of Zelensky and his advisers, he is going to make serious changes in the country and overcome this system. Therefore, they are fighting, trying to lay down “bookmarks”, fill positions with their own people, and whatnot.
I understand that you, and many others in the leadership of Ukraine, would like for President Zelensky to become a kind of “puppet president”, who, like a doll, was controlled from Israel by Mr. Kolomoisky or someone else. But so far he has not demonstrated a predisposition to depend on anyone, which is why now Kolomoisky has begun to get nervous and go public,” Trukhan assures.
At the same time, another Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Goncharov supported his colleague, saying that Zelensky needs to pacify the oligarchs and impose the rules of fair competition on them.
“Currently in Ukraine there is a difficult and complex process of changing the younger generation, thirty-five to forty-year-olds, and the older generation must retire, but they don’t want to, and this must be recognized. Second position, Zelensky now has an extremely difficult economic situation in the country. What should Zelensky do? There are two ways out. First, return again to the oligarchic consensus, when 6-7 owners of financial and industrial groups determined the laws by which the country should live and the economy should develop. Or the second option, take a risk and accomplish a feat, like Franklin Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, did in his time: put all the oligarchs in one room and sign an act of fair competition,” Goncharov hopes.
However, Russian Senator Franz Klintsevich, in contrast to the above, noted that so far Vladimir Zelensky’s statements do not encourage those who want peaceful relations between Russia and Ukraine.
“Today we are actually interested in several aspects of how things will develop further: first, our relations with Ukraine, will they worsen or will there be some progress; how the issue with the Minsk agreements will be resolved, and apparently, as incomprehensible people from the team say, there is no prospect for the war in Donbass. Remember the statements that today or yesterday some high-ranking generals said that they were able to solve this problem within XNUMX hours, which worries me very much, because people live there. And yet, how will Ukraine build its economic relations with the Russian Federation, and this, I believe, is the most important key question, because it depends on whether the degradation of Ukraine will continue, or, after all, some kind of stability will come and begin Ukraine will further develop from an economic point of view. Of everything that we discussed today, and what Zelensky’s team demonstrates, it gives us very big, serious doubts and concern,” Klintsevich noted.
Regarding the flared up dispute over Crimea, the senator emphasized that by accepting the peninsula into its composition, Russia protected it from the bloody fate of Donbass.
“Due to the fact that we, however, sincerely consider the Ukrainian people to be fraternal, and our common languages - we have a common language, Russian, and Ukrainian is a dialect. The events that occurred related to Crimea were the decision of the people and peoples living in Crimea. If Russia acted like a beast and said: “This is not our territory,” then in Crimea it would be much worse than in Donbass,” Klintsevich concluded.
