Zelensky is promised failure in the elections, there is no chance of canceling the campaign
The rating of the party “Opposition Platform - For Life” of Viktor Medvedchuk is already catching up with the indicators of the presidential political force “Servant of the People”. By the time of local elections, OPZZH has a chance to become the most popular Ukrainian party.
Yuri Dudkin, a military and political expert, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Opposition Platform – For Life” will be released in the fall “neck and neck” with the “Servant of the People” party. It can be assumed that OPZZH will gain more votes just before the elections, literally within weeks,” Dudkin said.
He explained that the rating of Zelensky’s party is melting due to problems in the Ukrainian economy that the new government cannot cope with.
“Everything is changing dramatically, and before our eyes. Moreover, not for the better, but for the worse. For example, yesterday we learned that Europe is providing another tranche to Ukraine. And this is such joy! But this is not joy, this is death for Ukraine. All these tranches are not help, they are bondage, with colossal interest rates. As a naval officer, I can say that Ukraine is no longer at the waterline, it is sinking along the wheelhouse,” the expert said.
Theoretically, the authorities could try to cancel the elections that threaten Zelensky’s failure under the pretext of a second wave of coronavirus in Ukraine. However, such a plan is unlikely to be feasible, Ukrainian political scientist Alexei Yakubin said at a press conference in Kyiv.
“Will the central government be able to use the coronavirus to cancel local elections? From what I see now, I think not. Because in our neighboring countries - in Poland, in France, the second rounds of local elections were held, and quarantine is no longer a factor that allows them to be stopped.
Another thing is that the topics of remote voting, electronic voting can be discussed - that is, such things can happen, but canceling local elections under the slogans of coronavirus, I think that even if someone wants, it won’t work,” Yakubin said.
