Zelensky had Putin translated from French to Ukrainian
High-ranking Russians and Ukrainians have forgotten how to speak to each other not only in the same language, but even through the same translator.
The publication’s special correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov writes about this in a report from Paris published by Kommersant.
“Meanwhile, while the agreement was still ongoing and the parties were resisting not only each other, but also the circumstances separating them, I became interested in whether there was a translator among the translators from Russia, for example, from Russian into Ukrainian. How, strictly speaking, will Mr. Putin be translated for Mr. Zelensky? And an amazing detail emerged: there is no such person. Not provided.
The translation will be carried out like this, they explained to me: Vladimir Putin will speak Russian, his words will be translated first into French (because he has a translator from Russian into French), and then from French into Ukrainian (and this also happened). So, it turned out that Russians and Ukrainians (at least high-ranking ones) have forgotten how to speak to each other not only in the same language, but even through the same translator,” writes Kolesnikov.
