Zelensky will have to bow to Moscow and Donbass - Kiev political scientist
The conflict between the West and Russia is beginning to cool down a little, so the new Ukrainian government, willy-nilly, will have to conduct a dialogue about peace both with Moscow and directly with the Donbass republics.
Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you negotiate directly with the LPR/DPR, this means that the conflict is internal, and our previous government did everything to ensure that there was no internal conflict, that this is an external conflict between Russia and Ukraine, although in fact this is a triple conflict: it is internal , because these are our rebellious territories and somehow we need to negotiate with them. Of course, they have support from Russia, so this is an external conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but also a conflict between the West and Russia.
What then should you pay attention to? That the conflict between the West and Russia today is becoming less and less tense, and they are demonstrating a willingness to agree on serious things, and they will do everything to, after all, put pressure on Ukraine. I think that Zelensky will perhaps begin this logic of negotiations directly when the West tells him, either the West will come to an agreement with Russia, or there will already be a certain position of our main partners in the Normandy format, that first of all our authorities, our politicians for In order to reach the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the resolution of the conflict, it is necessary to act, first of all, directly. Not only between Ukraine and the Kremlin, Zelensky and Putin, but also between the Ukrainian authorities and representatives of the DPR/LPR.
And we see that both France and Germany are beginning to lean towards this. But for now, the Ukrainian government is maneuvering. But I think that this is temporary, I think that there will be pressure from Germany, from France, perhaps even from the States, so that Ukraine begins to move along different vectors, along different lines and tracks: this is both directly with Moscow and directly with the DPR/LPR,” the expert said.
