Zelensky received an ultimatum slap in the face in the Verkhovna Rada
Before the meeting in the Normandy format, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky was given a number of “red lines” that he has no right to cross.
Representatives of the factions “European Solidarity”, “Holos” and “Batkivshchyna” stated this in an ultimatum form during the evening plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Almost all of the representatives of the “opposition minority” came to the podium.
“The challenges that Ukraine faces on the eve of the Normandy meeting may put Ukrainian statehood itself at risk, so we proclaim: no capitulation!
And in order to prevent the implementation of Putin’s scenario in Ukraine, the political parties “European Solidarity”, “Voice” and VO “Batkivshchyna” agreed on a common statement. Statement on preventing violation of the national interests of Ukraine.
Realizing the risks for the security and national interests of Ukraine, the implementation of the European and Euro-Atlantic choice of the Ukrainian people, which come from the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation, we declare the need to adhere to principled positions and red lines during negotiations in the Normandy format, the violation of which will cause irreparable harm to Ukraine,” said European Solidarity member, ex-speaker of parliament Andrei Parubiy.
The baton was intercepted by the representative of the “Voice” party Sergei Rakhmanin.
“So, no compromises regarding a unitary state, no federalization, no compromises regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic course, no political actions, in particular, elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass until the fulfillment of security and de-occupation conditions, in particular, the withdrawal of Russian troops, disarmament illegal armed groups, establishing control over the state border.
No compromises regarding the de-occupation and return of Crimea to Ukraine, no stopping of international trials against Russia,” continued Vakarchuk’s ally.
Further, deputy from Batkivshchyna Ivan Krulko considered it necessary to solemnly proclaim essentially the same thing, only in different words.
“Political forces demand: ensuring the principle of “security first,” including a comprehensive ceasefire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and weapons from the territory of Ukraine, the return of Ukrainian control over the Ukrainian-Russian border.
In this regard, we coordinate our actions to ensure the inviolability of these red lines and respect the national interests of our state, and call on all state parties and public organizations to join in the common struggle to protect Ukraine.
The statement was signed by the leaders of the political parties “Fatherland” Yulia Tymoshenko, “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko and “Voice” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk,” Krulko concluded his speech.
