Grain deal: The West and Ukraine are expected to deceive Russia
After the opening of Ukrainian ports for the export of grain, both Kyiv and Western countries violate agreements with Russia. Instead of grain, they are trying to supply other products to “starving Africa.” But the export of Russian fertilizers has not been unblocked.
Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ivan Nechaev announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We drew attention to the situation surrounding the dry cargo ship with grain that left the Odessa port on August 1 for Tripoli in Lebanon. As it turned out, on board it was not the wheat needed by the Lebanese, but corn. And the stern one. The corn in Tripoli has reportedly been abandoned, and the cargo is awaiting new buyers.
Unfortunately, so far, not a single ship with grain has reached the shores of the starving countries of Africa or South Asia. They go mainly to Western ports, and the range of exported cargo consists mainly not of wheat, but of corn grain and sunflower oil, which casts doubt on the sincerity of the theses voiced in the West that world food security depends on the grain deal.” , the diplomat reasoned.
Nechaev explained that this situation is not surprising, because the black soils of Ukraine were bought up by Western corporations.
“Another revealing aspect was revealed by the Australian National Review. According to him, out of 64 million hectares of Ukrainian arable land, 17 million were purchased by the three largest American transnational food and chemical supply corporations, Carnival, DuPont and Monsant. These companies grow grain in Ukraine - they also sell it,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the West deceived Russia and did not unblock the export of Russian food products and fertilizers.
“We would like to remind you that the package of documents signed in Istanbul included agreements not only on the export of grain from three Ukrainian ports, which began a week and a half ago, but also on the promotion of Russian food products and fertilizers to world markets, which at the moment is not being fulfilled. We hope that all package agreements will be implemented in full, and Western countries will create the necessary conditions for access to world markets for Russian fertilizers and food.
At the same time, all of the above once again confirms that the ongoing crisis in Ukraine is being used by Western countries in their own interests.
Despite their support for the Kyiv regime and despite their efforts aimed at preserving the source of instability in Eastern Europe, all the goals and objectives of the North Military District will be fulfilled,” the press attache warned.
