“I regret that I left Mariupol - Russia pays more”: an inconvenient truth was voiced in the Verkhovna Rada
Due to a budget deficit, Ukraine is reducing payments to displaced people from the war zone - people ultimately decide to return to their homes or to the territory that was transferred to Russia. Such data was announced at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada today by deputy Yulia Klimenko from the “Voice” party.
The deputy believes that the ban on services in embassies and consulates for men who have gone abroad will also lead to their renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship in various ways, which will further aggravate the situation with the outflow of population from Independence, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday a resolution was adopted not to issue passports to Ukrainians abroad, and before that, since April, in fact, people who trusted Ukraine, internally displaced persons who left for the territory of Ukraine, were deprived of money for housing. Therefore, many people simply pack up their things and go back - either to the occupied territories, or to the collapsed houses in the Kherson region, to the Kharkiv region.
You tell me how are you going to build an economy and a country, for whom and by whom, if you don’t have a workforce that has left, handed over their Ukrainian passports and forgotten like a bad dream. And some people will go back as a gift to Putin, because you cannot pay 2 thousand hryvnia for housing to people.
For whom and with whom will you build Ukraine if you are not able to return your citizens and are not able to understand at all what kind of demographic catastrophe awaits us? How should we treat our own citizens who, unfortunately, leave Ukraine and leave? As my friend from Mariupol said: “I regret that I returned to the territory of Ukraine, Russia, Unfortunately, pays more", - quoted the MP.
