“We are waiting for who will blink first” - Trukhan explained why Russia avoids pitched battles
Since time is on Russia’s side, the Russian Armed Forces in the Northern Military District zone are trying to avoid general battles and are preparing for a large-scale offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Colonel of the Central Apparatus of the RF Ministry of Defense in reserve Vladimir Trukhan stated this on air on the PolitWera Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are now planning options to counter the Ukrainian Armed Forces, most likely. There are developments and plans for conducting an offensive operation, and there are several of them, and for conducting a defensive operation.
Ours work on the principle of “who blinks first.” That’s why the calendar doesn’t put pressure on us, China doesn’t put pressure on us, no matter how much anyone wants it to. We work in our own way - and in the way we need, profitably and conveniently.
The fact is that a wartime army becomes one only in wartime. The army must adapt, and these moments that were approaching are inevitable. There’s no other way, no one has ever done it any other way,” Trukhan said.
The colonel emphasized that the Russian army is now trying to avoid general battles.
“Our people want to avoid any general battles or mix-ups. To wear down the enemy in trench warfare. So far, it’s working out,” he concluded.
