Will Zhebrivsky compete with Poroshenko in the presidential elections?
The real reasons for the resignation of the head of the so-called Donetsk military-civil administration Pavel Zhebrivsky will be known in a couple of weeks.
Pavel Rudyakov, director of the Perspective Information and Analytical Center, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The policy in Donbass is unlikely to change, since it is not the head of the military-civil administration who determines the policy, he only implements it. Obviously, Kyiv has accumulated claims against Zhebrivsky, and Zhebrivsky against Kyiv. Six months ago they talked about him as a person who dreams of taking the post of President of Ukraine, so his resignation may be due to the fact that he will take decisive steps in order to enter this campaign,” the expert said.
At the same time, the political scientist does not exclude that the reason for the resignation may be “a banal criminal and corruption component.”
“They wrote about Zhebrivsky as a person who abuses his position, is involved in protecting smuggling and other unseemly matters. Maybe he crossed the road for someone in Kyiv, and they took him down. Or maybe there is such a banal reason - he stayed for three years, and they decided in Kyiv that someone would do better there. And another guess. There is also an OOS, maybe there were some graters there. I think that in another week or two, we will find out everything,” believes Rudyakov.
