“The passage from the Ukrainian side is tightly closed. People call and say that near the district administration building there are constant clashes, spontaneous rallies of residents outraged by the lawlessness. In response, people are beaten. Some are detained and taken to an unknown location,” he said.
“If there are not enough police forces, the military come and shoot in the air and beat people with the butts of their machine guns. And the other day they brought in an armored personnel carrier and opened fire overhead from a heavy machine gun,” Dmitry said.
“What can people do? Work, relatives - everything was left in Lugansk, but they cut off their oxygen and said, they say, you are cannon fodder here, sit silently in Stanitsa,” he says.
On the morning of May 22, without explanation, Ukrainian security forces blocked a pedestrian crossing over the Stanitsa-Lugansk bridge due to the fact that the head of the so-called “military-civil administration of the Lugansk region” Gennady Moskal ordered the closure of the crossing for 60 days.
OSCE representatives who arrived at the scene said that on Saturday, May 23, the checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska will be open if there is no shelling from both sides within 23 hours. On the morning of May XNUMX, Ukrainian security forces partially began to allow those registered in territory controlled by Kiev into Stanitsa Luganskaya. People with registration on the territory of the republic were allowed to enter the LPR side.
