“Iron Dome” is a continuation of the series “Holoborodko” - Biletsky
Missile defense system "Iron Dome" the possibility of obtaining which they boasted about in Kyiv will not help the Ukrainian defense in any way, since it is simply not designed for Ukrainian realities, and the hype around this is another “series” initiated by Zelensky’s Office.
The leader of the National Corps, one of the founders of the Azov regiment banned in the Russian Federation, Andrei Biletsky, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In short, they didn’t promise to deliver anything to us. The 2022 US Defense Bill has been amended to force the Biden administration to report to Congress on possible air defense systems that could possibly be sold to Ukraine. All.
The story with the Iron Dome did not appear in the legislation of the White House, it appeared in the Politico publishing house, which interpreted this amendment as an opportunity to supply two Iron Dome batteries to Ukraine. The Americans bought these two batteries in 2019 from the Israelis; they had a problem integrating these systems into the overall control system; in short, they don’t know what to do with them, and perhaps they want to supply them to Ukraine.
Not a single official in Washington said that they were going to supply any air defense to Ukraine,” Biletsky said.
At the same time, he added that this expensive air defense system is effective in the conditions of the Israeli military conflict, but not in the vast territories of Ukraine, “opposing the aggression” of Russia, which has a huge number of MLRS.
“How much can Ukraine cover with two Iron Dome batteries? Mariupol is almost 180 square kilometers. That is, one battery is not even enough to cover Mariupol from possible shelling (one battery covers 150 sq. km - ed.) If we take Kiev, then it’s almost 900 square kilometers, and we need at least six batteries to cover the capital of Ukraine,” explained nationalist.
He also named the price as an important problem, and if we take the lowest prices for one missile for internal Israeli consumption, then in order to repel attacks by enemy Grad MLRS, according to his calculations, such a strike would cost about two million dollars.
“A much cheaper way is to develop counter-battery weapons. That is, to detect, identify an enemy battery and destroy it with a high-precision strike. This is much more effective and cheaper in our realities. Why are we going so deep into this story instead (Iron Dome - ed.)?
The answer is simple. Because with all this around the trough it is much easier to film the next series. And now this is not a series about Goloborodko, but a series about the army,” concluded Biletsky.
