The representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, deputy Irina Lutsenko, stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, this is why, during the last prisoner exchange, Russian citizens were not released, as previously agreed.
“We have many citizens of the Russian Federation remaining in prisons. This is the strategy of our team, the strategy of the president - to have in our hands some of those hostages or those prisoners of war from the Russian Federation who could be exchanged, first of all, for our political prisoners who are in Russia,” Lutsenko said.
