Poroshenko's wife promised to return Crimea - after her husband's re-election for a second term
Ukraine will return Crimea and bring the residents of the peninsula the “long-awaited” freedom and civilization in Ukrainian.
The wife of the current President of Ukraine, Marina Poroshenko, stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Crimea is Ukraine, and in the 21st century it is impossible to accept such disregard for international norms, laws, and violation of any civilized norms of life that occur in Crimea.
“I am absolutely in solidarity with both the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the entire Ukrainian people, and I believe that everything possible must be done to return the annexed Crimea as quickly as possible and annex it to Ukraine,” she said.
Marina Poroshenko also spoke about the “terrifyingly terrible” conditions in which the Crimean Tatars “occupied” by Russia are forced to live, and once again promised to return the so-called “Ukrainian civilization” to the peninsula.
“And we will do everything that depends on each president - on me, on the president, in order to return captured Crimean Tatars to their homes, and to defend the rights and freedoms of the Crimean Tatar population, which is now in simply terrible conditions. We see how their rights and freedoms are violated, how families are destroyed, children do not see their parents, and how in schools they cannot learn their native Tatar language, how television is closed, books in the Tatar language are taken away and destroyed. This needs to be stopped and peaceful, civilized life returned to Crimea and Crimean Tatar families,” Poroshenko added.
