Geneva gatherings: A close ally of Poroshenko came to bow to Kolomoisky
Former head of administration of President Poroshenko Boris Lozhkin held a meeting in Geneva with Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and his business partner Gennady Bogolyubov.
This is stated in the story of the “Schemes” program (a Radio Liberty project funded by the US State Department).
Journalists recorded the meeting on camera in one of the restaurants in Geneva, but what exactly the parties talked about is unknown.
Kolomoisky, an active critic of Poroshenko, explained that Lozhkin met with his partner, oligarch Gennady Bogolyubov, and he joined them later.
“We talked about Ukrainian realities, we talked about politics, about prospects, about the fact that Pyotr Alekseevich will never be president again. He told me how everyone is running away from Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko, how they are already thinking about how to quickly hide from him, so as not to stay on this ship and not crash into this iceberg,” Kolomoisky said.
At the same time, he clarified that “it was a meeting of people living in Geneva with a person who came from the Mainland.”
Kolomoisky also added that Lozhkin is no longer part of the president’s inner circle and is trying to distance himself from Poroshenko.
At the same time, journalists clarify that Lozhkin began to distance himself from Poroshenko two months ago, when the president removed him from the Investment Council. But unpublicly, “Schemes” claim, Lozhkin remains an influential member of Poroshenko’s team.
Lozhkin’s press service told reporters that the negotiations were private and had nothing to do with President Petro Poroshenko.
“After completing his work in the Presidential Administration, Boris Lozhkin returned to private business - this is Mr. Lozhkin’s consistent position, which he voiced when he assumed the post of head of the APU, and which he ultimately kept. Boris Lozhkin is not and does not plan to engage in politics. Now all the meetings he holds are private and relate exclusively to Mr. Lozhkin himself, his business or personal life,” the press service says.
