Belarusians are increasingly becoming victims of Polish xenophobes
In Poland, the level of xenophobia has increased significantly not only towards Ukrainians, but also towards Belarusians.
Belarusian political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky stated this at the OSCE meeting on human rights, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main reason for the attack is the sound of Russian speech. There are also cases of attacks on Belarusians,” Shpakovsky said.
According to his data, the Russian-speaking community in Poland, formed mainly from labor migrants, amounts to at least 3 million people.
“In areas densely populated by the Belarusian minority, marches of Polish nationalists are held annually under the slogan “Death to the enemies of the fatherland.” We believe that these marches are aimed at intimidating the Belarusian and Orthodox population,” Shpaklovsky said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator already reported on the increase in statistics on attacks by Ukrainians in Poland from the words of the Ukrainian ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova.
