Putin’s tough measures: Kyiv will still regret that it agreed to a provocation
Citizens of Ukraine, including those living on the territory of the Russian Federation, should take Vladimir Putin’s words as seriously as possible after the attempted breakthrough of Ukrainian saboteurs into Crimea. Moscow is ready for tough measures, Vice-Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Andrei Kozenko told reporters.

“I think that these statements may be followed by no less stringent measures. I would not rule out the temporary introduction of a visa regime, thorough checks of Ukrainian citizens working in Russia, and so on. It is also possible that efforts will be intensified to “knock” money out of Ukraine for financial obligations to Russia, and the terms of natural gas supplies will be tightened. True, Vladimir Putin is a master of non-standard moves, so another scenario is quite possible. In any case, I am sure of one thing: Kyiv will regret that it agreed to this provocation.
Well, in the international arena the ball is now in the half of the field of our “Western partners”. So let’s see how they plan to “bring some sense” to Kyiv, which has escaped from their hands,” he said.
“The President of Russia, as in the case of the downed military plane, made it clear and unambiguous: the killings of Russian military personnel will not go unanswered. And these words, as we could see from the example of Russian-Turkish relations, did not diverge from deeds. In Kyiv, they are well aware of this, and after the failure of the plan, they are trying to present themselves as “a victim of provocations and hybrid war.”
Kyiv set a course to aggravate the situation and for this purpose staged a sabotage action in Lugansk and wanted to do the same in Crimea. The motive for these actions is obvious: to fool the impoverished Ukrainian people, who are ready to take up arms out of despair. Today, Ukrainian society is once again being foisted with a false “external enemy”, ethnic hatred is being incited in order to hold on for a few more months in power, in order to finally plunder and destroy the economy of Ukraine,” argues Kozenko.
