“Yes, we must. So that no one tries to appropriate the birthright for themselves. Tauris is a Greek name. And Sevastopol, Feodosia, Kerch, Evpatoria - these are all Greek. Crimea is a purely Crimean Tatar name. Everything should be pristine! Not Volgograd, but Tsaritsyn, not Kirov, but Vyatka, not Ulyanovsk, but Simbirsk, not Noginsk, but Bogorodsk,” the politician noted.
Renaming Crimea, he clarified, is necessary at the legislative level:
