The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, announced this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“We need to react in a timely manner, harshly. We give the opportunity to earn money from us to businessmen from Moldova, the Baltics, and from our other former western territories. They earn money here, use it to come to power in their own country and pass anti-Russian laws,” Zhirinovsky said.
He considers the creation of the Moldavian SSR a mistake by the Soviet government.
“Under the tsar, it was the Bessarabian province with its capital in Chisinau, where the Russian governor-general sat, and no one made any fuss. Then they decided to create more union republics and invented Moldova. Representatives of the indigenous people will now use any excuse to sever ties with Russia. And get paid for it.
They started slowly. Some deputies were not given visas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Duma, the government are silent. Everything was swallowed. And then more and more. They began to ban the Russian language,” Zhirinovsky said.
