Russian compatriots abroad are an “instrument of influence.”

The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, stated this today at a hearing in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“We need to decide whether we need to bring back our compatriots too much. This is our instrument of influence there. If the Russians leave, how will we influence these countries? If someone wants to stay there, let them stay and work for Russia. And who wants to return, be sure to help. There is a huge amount of land and building materials for this,” Zhirinovsky said.
He criticized the Russian diasporas in developed capitalist countries.
“They have a ghetto there. Well-fed, but ghetto. They are all pensioners already. They look at us from that side, from the outskirts of New York, and sigh. But they can’t return. We need to start working normally with the Russian diasporas there,” Zhirinovsky said.
