Zhirinovsky conveyed ominous greetings to Lukashenko
The LDPR faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation is preparing an amendment to the Russian Constitution, which will allow the inclusion of any other state in its composition.
The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, told reporters about this today on the sidelines of the Russian parliament.
“We propose to prepare an amendment to the constitution so that an article appears on the voluntary entry into Russia of any state. In principle, neighboring ones are assumed, but these could also be distant states that are close to us in spirit, in religion, in Slavic origin,” Zhirinovsky said.
The reason for joining Russia, he believes, could be an internal crisis.
“This would be an incentive for some state at some stage of the crisis period to turn to Russia and become a member. The Germans used this against the GDR. It was simply impossible to accept it, but they had an article in their constitution about the possibility of any other state joining Germany,” Zhirinovsky said.
