Zhirinovsky proposed reviving the Cheka
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposes to create an Extraordinary Commission in Russia, which will help businessmen return capital to the country. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“We propose to create a new Cheka - the Extraordinary Commission, but with the opposite meaning of the Cheka that the Bolsheviks created in their time. The new CheKists should not “chik”, but help our businessmen transfer their capital safely to their homeland. This will allow us to inject colossal funds into the Russian economy, which will be used to develop infrastructure and improve the quality of life of citizens,” Zhirinovsky wrote.
He claims that now businessmen are afraid to return money to Russia.
“Billions of dollars have been withdrawn from Russia over the years, and now our businessmen, due to pressure in the West, want to return this money to their homeland, but they cannot - they are afraid of criminal prosecution, they are afraid that the money may be taken away. We treat returned money with suspicion, and law enforcement agencies begin checking immediately. In the end, everything seems to be conducive to this, but we ourselves are in the way,” Zhirinovsky wrote.
