The issue of building a parliamentary center where both chambers of the Federal Assembly could work has been discussed for several years. Now the State Duma and the Federation Council work in buildings whose total area does not exceed 100 thousand square meters. meters not adapted for these purposes (former buildings of the State Planning Committee and the State Committee for Construction of the USSR). In addition, their units are “scattered” across 20 addresses in the center of Moscow.
The start of construction of the Parliamentary Center in the capital's Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district was planned for 2016. However, the final stage of the competition for choosing an architectural solution has not yet been completed, the jury of which included representatives of the State Duma and the Federation Council.
