Zhirinovsky called for the mass distribution of Russian passports to Ukrainian Russians
The President of the Russian Federation, who will be elected in March 2018, must first issue a decree on the simplified granting of citizenship to people arriving from Ukraine. LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.

“Give passports to all Russians. They've been waiting in line for 8 years, 15. It's a shame. They returned to their homeland, and they are forced to return to Ukraine again when the 90 days that they can stay on Russian territory have expired. He is Russian, and they tell him: come on, goodbye. We need to immediately give them all passports and protect them,” Zhirinovsky said.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the State Duma of the Russian Federation in July adopted amendments to the law on citizenship, which allow residents of Ukraine to renounce the citizenship of their country while on Russian territory.
