“For twenty years, their consciousness has been so turned upside down that young people from Western Ukraine on the streets of Kyiv are calling for you and me to be put on knives. Here’s “friendship of peoples” - no country in the world now has such anti-Russian sentiments. So what has our organization Rossotrudnichestvo been doing all these years after the signing of the agreement?! What did our deputies do, how did they work with their Ukrainian colleagues?” – writes Zhirinovsky.
“It was necessary to work with millions of visitors from Western Ukraine, and today they would adhere to a neutral position, or maybe sympathize with Russia or even want, like Crimea, like Donbass, like Kharkov, to become part of our state,” he argues.
“In all countries of the former USSR, systematic anti-Russian propaganda is being carried out. Young people, who do not know what “friendship of peoples” is, absorb hatred of Russians like a sponge. And sooner or later the time will come when a generation saturated with Russophobic sentiments will occupy leadership positions in their countries...
We must also systematically work with diasporas and communities on the territory of our state, stop negative sentiments, soften
aggression, find ways of influence. We need to spend money on propaganda, correct ideology, education in schools, and correct history textbooks. Only then will we be able to protect Russia from external threats and internal strife,” the State Duma deputy suggests.
