Russia could increase its population through immigration from Ukraine. The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, announced this today in the State Duma.

“Do we need population? We already have a ready-made population on the border with Ukraine. Why can't we get them to come here? Look at the statistics: more people are moving to the West from Ukraine. How did the West lure them? Schengen. Ukrainians received tourist Schengen, but everyone stayed there and worked: as housekeepers, apprentices, janitors, whatever. Starting from hostile Poland, where they are kicked and bullied, and ending with the West,” Zhirinovsky said.
He believes that the Russian Federation should provide land plots to immigrants in economically attractive areas, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a reserve for the population to come to us. We need to invite the Russians to Russia. Just give them living conditions. Old Believers are ready to come from Argentina. And they are given land in the swamps in the Far East,” Zhirinovsky said.
