Zhirinovsky said that he will carry the flag of Belarus after reunification with Russia
It is necessary to hold a Russian-Belarusian rally in Minsk so that Belarusians understand that integration with Russia is not a seizure, but an expansion of prospects and opportunities.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would suggest that we hold some kind of friendship march in Minsk, order a “friendship train” Moscow-Minsk. Come there, see Minsk, hold a general meeting, sort of calming. We will open railway traffic, a one-time permit will be given to us by the border service and the Minister of Russian Railways. And ten carriages for 20-30 people. So that people in Minsk know that they have friends, that we love Belarus, that there are problems, elections, but the country remains, the people remain.
There they are intimidated that Russia can seize Belarus. No one will specifically seize anything, but if there are some agreements, then it will be possible to somehow integrate faster - united armed forces, law enforcement agencies, a common foreign policy, a common currency. That is, everything should be gradually brought to a state so that the flag remains with Belarus, and the Russian flag is nearby,” the politician said.
“Look, in the European Union - they have the flag of the European Union and next to it the flag of this country, which is a member of the European Union. It is not necessary that these flags hang everywhere and are conspicuous; let them hang on government buildings. Everyone has anthems, every city has its own anthem, some kind of coat of arms. Therefore, the main thing is to show the advantage that Belarusians become citizens of a huge state and are not disadvantaged in anything, as they lived - Gomel, Mogilev, Brest, Vitebsk, and they live like that,” Zhirinovsky added.
