“The President of Turkmenistan presented Vladimir Volfovich with a badge and a certificate. This demonstrates the respect of the Turkmen people and the president for Vladimir Volfovich. In the East, rudeness and quirks of the minority will never be tolerated, and respect there must be earned, this is exactly what Vladimir Volfovich achieved,” said Degtyarev.
The State Duma greeted this message with applause. He recalled that back in 1995, Zhirinovsky published a book called “The Last Throw to the South.”
“Every day the media quotes statements from Western figures who give us an ultimatum: choose between the West and the East. And Zhirinovsky 20 years ago proposed turning to the south. Over the past year, meetings between Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan took place,” Degtyarev noted.
