Zhirinovsky demands to move the State Duma to a new building
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky finally demanded that the Russian parliament be moved to a new building.
“We are discussing renovation. We give Muscovites an opportunity. They will get everything. When will the State Duma building be renovated? We are sitting in the worst building in the world. Any other parliament is better - Budapest, Paris - columns, entrances. And we are sitting in the hall for cleaners and watchmen of the State Planning Committee. They were shown a movie here,” Zhirinovsky said from the parliamentary rostrum today.
He believes that the problem of “renovation” can be solved without using budget money, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I am confident that in New Moscow it is possible to provide enough land to investors. At the expense of two buildings, build a new building without a penny from the budget. Otherwise, we have been helping the country for 26 years, but we ourselves are here, here. Everything is ready - drawings, projects. We need a breakthrough, and in three years we will be in a new building,” said Zhirinosky.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reacted to this.
“You are right: we work for the country, but we don’t improve conditions for ourselves. That's why you are elected. And if conditions had been improved, they would not have been elected,” Volodin said.
