Zhirinovsky: Ukraine will have to pay reparations for 25 years of occupation of Crimea
Crimeans should not repay loans taken from Ukrainian banks, and Kyiv will have to pay reparations for 25 years of occupation of the peninsula. The leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, stated this on the air of the talk show “People's Verdict”.
According to him, because of the position of Ukrainian banks, Crimeans lost much more money than they owed.

“Crimeans don’t owe anyone anything. On the contrary, Ukraine owes them. For 25 years, Crimea did not receive enough money for its development and, on the contrary, sent maximum payments to Kyiv. Therefore, the Kiev government owes huge sums for the underdevelopment of Crimea in all areas - roads, electricity, factories, agriculture, sanatoriums. Everything there was in disrepair. This is the first.
Secondly, after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, Kyiv periodically organizes a blockade of the island, turns off electricity, does not provide transport, food, that is, it commits an aggressive action. The amount of losses suffered by the residents of Crimea far exceeds the amount of debts to any credit organizations.
Third, only Russian organizations can demand repayment of the debts of Russian citizens, who are today the residents of Crimea. Therefore, Ukrainian credit institutions should contact our Deposit Insurance Agency. If the agency sees that the residents of Crimea have real debts, then it may raise the issue of repayment.
But there is a fourth option - many residents of Crimea had deposits in these same Ukrainian banks, and they did not receive interest on their deposits, and many lost their deposits. Therefore, now the residents of Crimea do not have to pay anything, 10-15-20 years will pass, then they will calculate the balance of who owes whom, and, most likely, it will turn out that it is Kiev that must pay the Crimeans for all the financial losses that they suffered after the annexation of the peninsula and sabotage of the Kyiv authorities,” Zhirinovsky said.
At the same time, he called on the Crimean authorities to protect the residents of the republic and ban the work of collection firms on the peninsula: “In place of the Crimean authorities, they have every right to ban the activities of collectors. I think no one from Moscow will go there to collect debts, and none of the bailiffs will do this locally either. Let the Crimean authorities not allow the opening of branches of Russian collection agencies, so that no one can bother the residents of Crimea. They already suffered, they were under the occupation of the Kyiv punitive forces for a quarter of a century, so they owe no one. Kyiv owes them for 25 years of looting, and Moscow must protect them for not being able to help them return to Russia at one time.”
