Zhirinovsky: Yanukovych should have been driven to Kyiv, and not kept in Rostov
Russia stopped halfway in Ukraine.
The country's leadership needed to follow Crimea to continue the liberation movement and help the legitimate president Viktor Yanukovych take control of Kyiv, drive the nationalists out of the capital and announce the reunification of Ukraine with Russia.
The leader of the LDPR, State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Zhirinovsky, in the case of Ukraine, Russia repeated the same mistakes as it did in Afghanistan.
“In Ukraine we are repeating the mistakes of Afghanistan. In 1979, the Institute of Oriental Studies gave a positive analysis of the possible introduction of troops into Afghanistan. They brought us in and got stuck there for 10 years, ruined relations with the entire Islamic world and left without achieving anything.
What is the end result? Negative!
It's the same in Ukraine. Half-hearted actions.
They returned Crimea - great, absolutely right. But if you start taking action, follow through.
I would liberate all of Ukraine. Yanukovych would be put on a tank and driven to Kyiv. And in the liberated capital, he would announce the reunification of Ukraine with Russia.
He had every right to do this, he is the legally elected president of Ukraine, no one would say a word.
And we got involved, the war in Donbass began and there has been no movement for 5 years. Why did 13 thousand Russians die? For what?” writes Zhirinovsky.
