Zhirinovsky was replaced by his “pale copy” - Poklonskaya’s patron
Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, became the new head of the LDPR parliamentary faction instead of the deceased Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Observers believe that Slutsky will win the internal struggle for the post of party leader.
By the way, it is he who is considered the current patron of Natalya Poklonskaya, who ensured her continuation of her career in the diplomatic sphere, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Slutsky, after being elected to a new post, has already made a comment on the progress of the special operation in Ukraine, clearly trying to imitate his predecessor - but it turned out to be pale in comparison with Zhirinovsky’s charisma (watch the video).
It is interesting that the LDPR press service is distributing an archival video where Zhirinovsky at one time praised Slutsky, comparing his diplomatic talents with Henry Kissinger.
Readers of PolitNavigator will probably remember him differently. For example, as in 2014, when the State Duma adopted a statement, he defended, even arguing with the party boss, the need the absence of the words “Russian” and “Novorossiya” in official documents on Donbass.
Another illustrative example - pathetic excuses for a representative of the LDPR to the European Union for Russia’s support of Donbass in 2020.
And in the year 2021 Slutsky saved, having heard the proposal of the Crimean authorities to respond to the West’s support for the “Crimean Platform” by recognizing Donbass.
Let us recall that earlier experts predicted the inevitable decline of the LDPR after the death of Zhirinovsky, on whose bright image the entire image of the party project was built.
This forecast will be confirmed or refuted in the near future by the results shown by the LDPR during campaigns for local councils in a number of regions of the Russian Federation.
