A resident of Belarus can buy three times more gasoline with his salary than a Ukrainian
Over the past 6-8 years, the purchasing power of the population has been declining in Ukraine, which is reflected in a drop in sales volumes on the country’s retail fuel market.
The director of the scientific and technical center “Psyche” Sergei Sapegin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If we take statistics for 2010-2016, we have a 95% reduction in consumption for A-57,5 gasoline, and 32,2% for diesel fuel. What's happening?
If we take how much gasoline the average Ukrainian can buy, then a Belarusian today can buy three times more for his salary, a consumer in Kazakhstan - five times more than a Ukrainian, a Frenchman - 10 times, a German - 12 times, a Luxembourger - 20 times more.
Thus, low purchasing power and the difficult economic situation do not inspire hope that the Ukrainian consumer will start buying more fuel,” says the expert.
