A resident of Galicia started a shooting rampage
A resident of Chervonograd was sentenced by a court in the Lviv region to 3 years in prison for causing bodily harm and threats motivated by jealousy to a friend of his ex-wife.
This is stated in the verdict, published by in the Register of Judicial Decisions of Ukraine.
The conflict began when a Galician met his ex-wife and her companion near the latter’s house.
Having become jealous of his ex-wife, he began to use obscene language at the man, after which he stabbed him in the shoulder with a knife.
A passing citizen came to the aid of the wounded man. They knocked the attacker down and took his knife.
Having escaped, the attacker ran to his car parked nearby. Then, having driven up to the crime scene in a car, he fired a pistol shot towards the citizens who resisted him.
However, realizing that he could not do anything more, the brawler fled the crime scene.
Over the next four days, the attacker sent SMS messages to the victim’s mobile number threatening murder and destruction of property.
In making its decision, the court took into account the sincere repentance of the attacker, but due to the fact that the victim perceived SMS messages with threats of murder and destruction of property as real threats, the servants of Themis passed a harsh sentence.
