A pensioner from Krasnodon called the studio, introducing himself as Yuri, and stated that the civil war in Ukraine began due to the actions of nationalists. According to him, the country lived peacefully as long as nationalist ideology did not go beyond the borders of the western regions. But when Bandera became the state ideology, the southeast rebelled.
"Good morning. Lugansk People's Republic, Krasnodon city. Pensioner Yuri. You know, when all this happened, Shukhevych and Bandera were in Lvov, no one was doing anything... and we lived peacefully. But when this all happened at the level of Ukraine, not only the Poles, but also we rebelled against Shukhevych and Bandera, that’s what the civil war happened, because of the nationalists,” said a resident of the LPR.
“For the first time, they called us and introduced themselves as being from the LPR,” the presenter said, clearly changing his face.
“From the so-called LPR,” his colleague in the studio immediately corrected.
“Yes, well, here we are - the so-called LPR, you - think as you want. Look, the question here is: who do you think is to blame for such confrontations between peoples? In particular, Poles and Ukrainians. Who is to blame – the authorities on the Polish side or on the Ukrainian side? What do you say here? – as if not having heard anything said before this pensioner, the presenter asked again.
“I will say that this is Ukrainian. Both the Poles and here in Donbass...”, the pensioner began to answer.
“Thank you, let’s make the next call,” the presenters immediately interrupted him, ending the conversation.
Thank you!
