A criminal case against a Carpathian resident who buried about 150 kg of marijuana in his garden has been brought to court.

“The Gorodenkovsky department of the prosecutor’s office sent to the court an indictment in criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 310 (sowing or growing hemp), Part 2, Art. 308 (theft, embezzlement, extortion of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, or their acquisition by fraud or abuse of official position), Part 3 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding a 48-year-old local resident,” I said in the message.
The prosecutor's office recalled that in early March of this year, during an authorized search at the man's place of residence, a significant amount of marijuana and poppy straw, which he had buried in three-liter jars and plastic bottles in his own garden, was discovered and seized.
Expert research has established that the attacker stored particularly dangerous drugs, the circulation of which is prohibited - cannabis, with a total weight in a dried state of more than 145 kg and more than 4 kg of poppy straw.
The investigation has been completed, the indictment will be considered on its merits by the court. For this offense he faces up to 12 years in prison.
