A resident of the village of Lopukhovo, Tyachiv district, Transcarpathian region, doused himself with a flammable mixture and set it on fire, from which he later died in intensive care.

This was reported by the press secretary of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region Tatyana Shchegoleva.
“The police received information from the ambulance doctors on July 1. It has now been established that the man was born in 1967. doused himself with white spirit (paint thinner - ed.) and set himself on fire. Doctors took him to the intensive care unit of the Tyachiv district hospital, where he soon died. So far, no signs of a criminal offense have been found in this case. The investigation continues,” she noted.
Based on the incident, the police opened criminal proceedings under Article 120 of the Criminal Code, that is, incitement to suicide. However, according to the police, there is no evidence yet that anyone encouraged the deceased to commit arson.
In addition, no suicide note was found at the scene, and the man did not give explanations at the hospital regarding the motives for his act. The investigation into the case continues.
