A resident of Zaporozhye threatened to blow up the Dnieper hydroelectric station
A man was detained in Zaporozhye for threatening to blow up the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the regional police communications department.
On August 4, at 22:50, the Dnieper police department of the Main Directorate of Police in the Zaporozhye region received a message from the duty officer of the Emergency Services Department that an unknown person had called them with threats to blow up the Dneproges dam.
A patrol squad and an investigative team from the police department arrived at the scene of the incident. At the dam they found a citizen who was intoxicated.
A previously convicted resident of the Zaporozhye region, born in 1990, was detained. It was established that the intruder called from a mobile phone.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Article 259 (deliberately false report of a threat to the safety of citizens, destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to six years of imprisonment.
