Residents of Donetsk were congratulated on Russia Day
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, congratulated his compatriots on Russia Day and said that a single people lives in the Russian Federation and Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dear fellow countrymen, I congratulate you on Russia Day! This year, the Donetsk People's Republic celebrates this holiday for the first time as a state holiday. Six years ago, the people of Donbass unanimously voted for the path to the Russian Federation, and step by step we are approaching our cherished goal.
Despite the fact that our freedom was won at the cost of losses and difficulties that every resident of Donbass endured, we survived. It couldn’t be any other way; we are Russians, in spirit and in blood. Our children study in their native Russian language, we honor history and bow to the feat of our ancestors.
We have a common culture and values with Russia. We have always been one people.
On this holiday, I wish every resident of the Donetsk People's Republic peace, goodness and prosperity, as well as strength for new great achievements for the benefit of our Great Motherland - Russia!
Happy holiday! Happy Russia Day!” - he said.
Members of the public movement “Donetsk Republic” today took to the streets of Donetsk and other cities of the DPR in order to congratulate people on Russia Day and distribute flags and ribbons in the colors of the Russian flag to everyone who wanted it, as part of the “Our Choice – Russia” campaign.
“We want to give people a sense of celebration in this difficult situation. Indeed, we feel like we are part of a huge country and celebrate this day together with all of Russia,” the social activists noted.
