Residents of Chernigov began to accept Islam
The Ukrainian Muslim Association opened a branch in Chernigov. 0462.ua, the website of the city of Chernigov, writes about this with reference to the head of the association, Elimdar (Suleiman) Khairullaev.

According to him, the main goal of the AMU representative office in Chernigov is to help local Muslims comply with the requirements of Islam.
“To provide an opportunity for local Muslims to unite and study religion. The imam will give religious lessons; when the need arises, we will help. Training is the main goal,” he said.
The head of the Association of Muslims of Ukraine noted that the Chernigov branch intends to appeal to the city authorities with a request to allocate a plot in the city cemetery for the burial of believers in accordance with Islamic norms.
Khairullaev attended the first Friday prayer, which took place in the center of Chernigov, and read a khutbah (sermon) to the assembled believers.
The imam of the Chernigov branch of the AMU is a native of Chernigov, Abdulla Kolomiets. According to him, on the first day of the branch’s operation, a resident of Chernigov converted to Islam.
“One sister said the shahada (the symbol of Muslim faith), people come in and are interested in literature, the books that we brought have practically sold out,” he said.
