Residents of Crimea convicted of shielding an ISIS militant
Four residents of the Republic of Crimea were convicted of failure to report a crime of a terrorist nature, the press service of the republican department of the FSB told PolitNavigator.
“The courts of the Republic of Crimea have passed sentences against residents of the peninsula born in 1986, 1991, 1990, 1991, accused of a crime under Art. 205.6 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to report to the authorities about a person who, according to reliable information, committed a crime of a terrorist nature).
It was established that the defendants did not inform law enforcement agencies that their acquaintance, who was in Iraq, had joined the ranks of the international terrorist organization ISIS.
In particular, they corresponded with him via the Internet, but deliberately withheld this information during interrogation as witnesses. in a criminal case initiated by the investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol against a member of a terrorist organization (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the message says.
By decision of the courts, they were fined in the amount of 30 and 40 thousand rubles.
The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea left the imposed punishment unchanged.
