Residents of Lvov carried flowers to the Soviet monument
Several hundred Lvov residents visited the monument to Soviet soldiers today and laid flowers on the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the city by the Red Army.
Lviv social activist Inna Ivanochko reports this.
“Grateful Lviv residents, in spite of everything, remember and honor the memory of the feat of their ancestors. It was joyful to see so many people, young faces, a sea of flowers in the light of the official political doctrine supported by the authorities about the substitution of historical concepts. Other than a momentary conjuncture, one cannot call the attempts of temporary workers “Vyatrovich” and other figures to swap places in the minds of Ukrainians as “liberators” and “occupiers”, to impose their vision of historical processes,” comments Ivanochko.
Today, Lviv residents laid flowers at the grave of Soviet intelligence officer Nikolai Kuznetsov on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of his birth.
