Residents of Serbia took to Anti-Maidan
A mass rally of opponents of the coup took place yesterday in the second city of Serbia - Nis. The participants unfurled banners calling on the Maidan activists’ sponsor, oligarch Dragan Djilas – “Djilas, don’t kill Serbia!” and “Stop the bloody scenario!” - this is how they protested against the actions of the pro-Western opposition, which these days is celebrating the anniversary of the start of weekly street anti-government demonstrations, which often turn into blocking traffic and riots.
The reason for the action was scandal surrounding extremist illustrations in pro-opposition media, where images of President Aleksandar Vucic with a weapon aimed at him were published the day before.
Opposition protests in Serbia often do not find understanding among the public, Bojan Klacar from the public organization CESID said in an interview with Bluc.
“These protests are vague and inconclusive. Requirements changed over time and were contradictory. The protests began as a fight against violence (against the opposition - ed.), and today the main topic is the boycott of elections and the doctorate of the Minister of Finance Siniša Maly (the opposition accuses him of plagiarizing his dissertation, - ed.). And two or three months ago, the main demands were free and fair election conditions,” the expert recalled.
