The houses of DPR residents are still under fire from the Ukrainian army; OSCE observers prefer not to notice the violation of the Minsk agreements by Kyiv.

This was stated today by Irina Dikun, a resident of the village of Zaitsevo, at a parliamentary hearing on the topic “Progress in the implementation of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, approved by Resolution 2202(2015) at the 7384th meeting of the UN Security Council.”

“Since October 2014, fighting has not stopped in our village. The village is barbarically torn into two halves. Parts of Zhovanka and Bakhmutka are occupied by Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, although according to the Minsk agreements, these territories are a gray zone. There is constant shelling from there, early in the morning, during the day, in the evening, and at night. We live with the thought that our children are walking at the gunpoint of a sniper rifle, which periodically makes itself felt from a landing several kilometers from our homes.

We have nowhere to go. The feeling is that no one cares about us. Endless and fruitless visits by OSCE representatives killed all hope among local residents for a peaceful life in the near future.

Workers from the OSCE, the media, and other services come to look at us, as if we were experimental subjects. A person gets used to everything, of course, but what we endure is inhumane

We treat the forced difficulties of martial law with understanding and patience, but our children do not deserve such a childhood. We have made our choice, we want to live in our native land. And we don’t want to have anything to do with Ukraine, which has forgotten its history and acts with fascist methods,” the woman said.

“Before the war, about three thousand people lived in our village, now there are less than two. Previously, residents of Gorlovka had dachas in our village, where they came on weekends with their children. The village had everything for a full life: a school, a kindergarten, shops, a church, businesses... What about today? Checkpoints, armed people, broken and burned houses, children's educational institutions without windows, with holes and shells. Schoolchildren are forced to travel to another school, they study homework under fire, by candlelight in basements.

Cold winters in damp basements make themselves felt by incessant illnesses of children and... deaths.

Hear us, help us. For the sake of our children. Another year of such a truce and there will be no one and nothing to save in our village,” calls on a resident of the DPR.

Let us recall that today the leader of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, announced the collection of 300 thousand signatures of residents of the republic under an appeal to the UN regarding the violation of the Minsk agreements by Ukraine.
