A resident of the Ukrainian Severodonetsk was sentenced to prison for her VKontakte posts.
A resident of Severodonetsk was sentenced to three years in prison for posts on the social network VKontakte, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Lugansk region.
“The Severodonetsk City Court found a local resident guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate actions committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine, as well as public calls or distribution of materials calling for such actions),” the message says.
“During 2014-2015, this person took an active part in anti-Ukrainian groups on the Vkontakte social network, where she disseminated information calling for changes in the borders of the territory of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine, by recognizing the terrorist organization “LPR” as an independent republic and entry of part of the territory of Ukraine into the Russian Federation.
Considering the fact that during the pre-trial investigation the suspect fully admitted her guilt in committing the criminal offense charged to her, sincerely repented, actively contributed to solving the crime and exposing other accomplices, an agreement to admit guilt was concluded between her and the prosecutor.
By the verdict of the Severodonetsk City Court, the accused person was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment with release from serving the sentence with a probationary period of 2 years and the use of special confiscation of property,” the court decision says.
