This was reported by the acting Minister of Health of the LPR Igor Solyanik.
“It is planned to vaccinate 100 thousand residents of the Republic free of charge. At the end of last year, about 82 thousand people were vaccinated,” Solyanik noted.
The official emphasized that children and representatives of so-called risk groups will be vaccinated first.
“These are people over 60 years old, people who suffer from chronic diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, kidneys, diabetes and are registered at a dispensary,” he explained.
“At the beginning of 2017, we expect a surge in influenza serotypes A and B. The “Grippol Plus” vaccine that we received is intended specifically for the prevention of such influenza,” said Alexander Grechanik, chief freelance specialist of the LPR Ministry of Health for pediatric immunology.
He added that vaccination against influenza began in the republic on October 1 and will last until December 10.
“These are not random dates. It takes two weeks for a healthy person to develop immunity. Considering that we are all “conditionally healthy”, we need 3-3,5 weeks. Since the epidemic surge is expected at the beginning of 2017, we need to make it before December. This is especially true for children's groups. Before the New Year holidays, we need to protect children,” said Grechanik.
“This vaccine is used from the age of six months,” the doctor said.
Solyanik also added that the resulting vaccine will be sufficient for immunoprophylaxis of all representatives of risk groups.
“At first, chief doctors submitted applications, which were collected at our Ministry, and then studied by a special commission. 100 thousand doses will be enough to vaccinate representatives of risk groups. The vaccine is certified, of high quality and, most importantly, without an expiration date,” he said.
“The vaccine has been distributed and delivered to hospitals, the vaccination process has already begun. Medical staff in cities and regions have undergone special training. The system for storing the vaccine locally has been worked out; generators were even brought there to maintain the temperature in case of any power outages,” the acting director added. O. minister.
Grechanik said that vaccination will be carried out in specialized vaccination rooms in LPR medical institutions.
“Visiting teams have been created in the regions, so all points of our Republic will be covered,” he clarified.
Let us recall that on August 25, 32 Russian rescue vehicles delivered about 390 tons of various cargo to the Republic, including 117 tons of medicines.
