A resident of Mariupol was given a year in prison for reposting the phrase “Stop feeding Bandera” on a social network
In Mariupol, a local resident found himself in the dock for reposting a call on a social network against the policies of the Maidan authorities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the decision of the local court, published in the Unified Register of Court Decisions.
“On March 5, 2017, using a computer and the personal page of the Odnoklassniki social network that he created, the man personally found in the group “ANTIMAIDAN (South-East)” materials with calls to commit deliberate actions in order to change the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine,” - says the register.
On his page on the social network, a person posted the phrase “Stop feeding Bandera - and Kyiv and the South and East - join Russia!”, which he reposted from the group “Anti-Maidan (South-East)”. At the trial, the man admitted his guilt. He explained his action by saying that he was worried about the situation in Donbass, and he liked the expression.
The actions of the Mariupol resident were qualified under Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine). He received a one-year suspended sentence and paid monetary compensation of 1001 UAH for attracting experts.
