The Zhytomyr court continues to sabotage the consideration of the case of journalist Vasily Muravitsky
“Today there was supposed to be a meeting at which the hearing on the merits of the case was supposed to begin. But this did not happen. The reason was explained to us by the fact that the police and the convoy service do not have available people to take the defendant to the courtroom. The case had to be postponed until December 20 of this year,” this is how Muravitsky’s lawyer Andrei Gozhy commented on the situation to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“It turns out that due to the fault of the authorities, either the fifth or sixth court hearing was disrupted. They can continue this practice as long as they want. The law defines “reasonable time limits for the consideration of cases.” But for now, as for Ukrainian realities, this is still “not so long.” Vasily has been under arrest since August XNUMX, almost four months.
We have not missed a single meeting, we are ready for hearings, ready to face state prosecution. Not a single meeting was canceled due to the fault of the defense,” he said.
Also, Muravitsky’s defense team continues to cooperate with international human rights structures: “The OSCE recently contacted Klimkin, we were included in their report. The UN is monitoring the situation with Vasily. There are several other organizations, but they haven’t officially announced it yet, so I don’t want to give away these secrets,” the lawyer added.
